Designed for both robust performance and aesthetic appeal, Peikko’s SLYDE® Telescopic Corbel connectors provide hidden, secure point support in precast staircases.
SLYDE® Telescopic Corbel connectors resist vertical shear loads in precast concrete stair landing slabs connected to load-bearing concrete walls. They are strong, reliable, durable, fire resistant, and are out of sight to maintain the clean lines and visual integrity of the project.
The system consists of two hollow rectangular profiles, where the smaller inner profile extends from the outer profile after the whole corbel part is cast into the staircase landing slab. The recess rubber box and its steel plate create a recess in the wall and minimize impact sound between the staircase and walls.
By using a crane, temporary props and the SLYDE® connectors, staircase landing slabs can be quickly, easily and safely installed in the stairwell shaft.
Each connector’s telescopic inner tube extends 110 mm, allowing minor adjustments, providing flexibility and precision in aligning components. The correct position of the inner tube is when the safety screw is at its maximum position. The steel recess in the slab and the rubber recess in the wall are then filled with grout to ensure a permanent joint.
SLYDE® requires supplementary rebar strengthening to transfer the load to the reinforced concrete landing slab.
